Fit

Fit a lamp to the desk before choosing its style

Before comparing finishes, sketch the space the fixture will occupy. A lamp can have a wide stated light area and still be awkward if its base, arm, cord route or head collides with a monitor, shelf or storage bin. The aim is to establish a plausible setup, then check the exact product instructions for anything the catalogue page does not specify.

Map the desk and overhead clearance

Measure the free tabletop area and note the positions of displays, keyboards, notebooks and shelves. Mark where the light head should be for each task, then trace a possible path for the arm. Manufacturer maximum width, depth and height are useful screening figures, but they do not necessarily describe the base footprint, every joint angle, or a no-collision path around your equipment. Ask for an installation drawing if the exact reach or clearance would decide the purchase.

Base and clamp solve different placement problems

A base is the direct tabletop setup. Its footprint and stability should be evaluated against the desk space you can spare. A clamp can move the lamp's support to an edge, but compatibility is model-specific, and its exact jaw range and desk requirements belong in the manufacturer's current instructions. Do not assume that a clamp offered for one lamp in a family will fit another. Check whether it is included in the lamp package or must be purchased separately.

Use model differences, not family names

For one concrete example, BenQ lists the e-Reading Desk Lamp with a compatible separate Desk Clamp, while its support page says that clamp does not fit Genie. The two lamps also have different supporting-arm geometry. Those distinctions are more useful than their shared “e-Reading” family name. See the official BenQ Desk Clamp compatibility page and each exact US product page before checking a seller package.

Test the arrangement with your own objects

When possible, mock up the lamp head and support with an inexpensive stand-in before choosing a large fixture. Move your normal monitor and paper into place, and check where the head and arm would sit. This is a planning exercise, not a performance test: it helps you notice collisions and interruptions that a product-page dimension cannot resolve. If clamp, base, arm or shelf clearance remains uncertain, leave it as an open question rather than inferring compatibility.

Cycle 17 saved tabletop-base answer (historical snapshot)

Decision: All forty-one individually reviewed complete lamp records document a tabletop-base plan; that support choice does not by itself establish fit, reach, or light output. The Genie has a listed 25 × 25 cm maximum footprint, while e-Reading, Switch, Study, Flexible Soft Touch, Organize, Strive and Space Organizer each have different geometry and need their own footprint and head-clearance check. Organize CS59399-SHPR adds a supply cup to its 4.5-inch-diameter base; Space Organizer combines its support with storage; Strive has a 5.3125-by-7.25-inch rectangle; Good Housekeeping Circular lists a 5.5-inch-diameter base and 5 W Qi pad; Swivel CSN0800W lists a 4.375-by-7.125-inch base, phone holder and wired USB output; and Wide Area CSY34WGC-SHPR lists an 8-by-10-inch base. Power Up combines Qi and separate USB charging; the non-USB Creative Curves, Folding 13W and Slimline 13W have their own distinct supports and adjustment mechanisms. Vibe has a 6.25-inch rechargeable ring-light base, Prevention a 6.5-inch square charging base, and USB-equipped Creative Curves a 5.25-inch base. The reviewed Black Curve has a 5.25-inch base and flexible neck; Turquoise Revive has a 6.12-inch base beneath its two linked arm sections; Gray Good Housekeeping Modern uses a 5.9-inch base that also houses its Qi charging area. The White Rechargeable LED Desk Lamp with Phone Holder adds a 5.875-inch round-edged base and a phone rest; White and Grey Cool Breeze use a 4-by-4.188-inch base with an integrated fan. The White SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S adds a 5.5-by-4.875-inch base for its lamp and air-care module. The new Beam CS334W1W has a 6-inch base and a stated 17-inch maximum height; Prevention Pharmacy F148500P lists a 6.12-inch base and 6.5–15.5-inch height with two linked support sections; the Good Housekeeping table lamp OTTCL4QTPNGH has a 6.25-inch base, movable linen shade, replaceable 9 W E26 bulb and 10 W wireless charging pad; Adjust CS01KC9-SHPR has a 6-inch base and a 3–22-inch working height; and Good Housekeeping Sanitizing SCAY000GH has a 6.875-inch base and 11–26-inch height, while its two stated articulation points do not establish two linked arm sections. Cycle 16 adds Purify SCNQC00S with a 5-by-4-inch base and manual light/sanitizing states, folding Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR with a 4.75-by-6.625-inch base and two articulation points that do not establish two linked arms, and Brass Direct CS01BS9-SHPR with a 6-inch base and one counterbalance arm. Cycle 17 adds Black Prevention CSE13G5P with a compact 3.25-by-2.5-inch base, Silver Cone 286SV9 with a flexible neck, Gray Twist CSNWC51W with a 5.125-inch charging base, White Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR with two adjustable heads, and Black/antique-brass Balance CS01KA9-SHPR with a 6-inch base and one counterbalance arm. The Twist's Qi pad, Dual Shade's two heads and speaker, and Prevention's clock are distinct utility features, not evidence of a qualifying broad coverage width. These functions and physical geometry are not interchangeable, and none of the five documents the separate 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Those dimensions and functions do not substitute for a full reach map or numeric beam-width specification. Compare the compact BenQ Genie, the two-arm BenQ e-Reading, the rechargeable Black/White Switch base-and-clip lamp, the OttLite Study, the white/grey Flexible Soft Touch, the White and Green Organize, the Black/White Space Organizer, the Black Strive, the Black/White Good Housekeeping Circular, the White Swivel, the White Wide Area, the White Power Up CS030QI-SHPR, the non-USB White/Black Creative Curves, the White/Grey and White/Turquoise Creative Curves with USB, the Black Vibe rechargeable ring lamp, the White Prevention lamp, the Black/White Folding 13W, the Black/White Slimline 13W, the Black Curve CSA30G59, the Turquoise Revive F1485TU9-SHPR, the Gray Good Housekeeping Modern CS8WA51GH, the White CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp, the White/Grey Cool Breeze family, SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S, and the five cycle-17 Prevention, Cone, Twist, Dual Shade and Balance assessments. Cycle 17 saved tabletop-base match set (historical snapshot)

The preceding twenty-eight-record summary is the saved cycle-14 snapshot; this current section updates its count while preserving previously vetted fit notes.

Decision: All forty-one individually reviewed complete lamp records document a tabletop-base plan; that support choice does not by itself establish fit, reach, or light output.

The reviewed White SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S has a 5.5-by-4.875-inch base and integrated air-care module. Cycle 15 adds Beam, Pharmacy, the Good Housekeeping table lamp, Adjust and Good Housekeeping Sanitizing. Cycle 16 adds Purify, Charge Up and Direct, which respectively document a 5-by-4-inch base with manual light/sanitizing states, a 4.75-by-6.625-inch folding base with uncounted articulation points, and a 6-inch base with one counterbalance arm. Cycle 17 adds Prevention CSE13G5P, Cone 286SV9, Twist CSNWC51W, Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR and Balance CS01KA9-SHPR. Their support plans are documented, but their bases, manual controls and extra functions differ; none supplies a 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Open the same base-only finder condition for all forty-one current reviewed matches.

Cycle 26 saved clamp answer (historical snapshot)

Cycle 23's Multi-Device Charging Station, Thrive SCEY708S and LED Task Light 290009/290G59 each have a documented tabletop-base plan, not a clamp plan. Charging furniture, a flexible neck or a folding shade does not convert one of these into a desk-edge mount.

Decision: Two reviewed lamps document a clamp-mounted plan: BenQ e-Reading, which uses a compatible Desk Clamp sold separately, and OttLite 18w FlexArm Plus A13WG2-SHPR, whose current product page describes an included rotating clamp and weighted tabletop base. A clip, such as the Switch's, is a different attachment. For the OttLite clamp, the manual limits the support to a firm platform up to 1½ inches thick and says not to overtighten; BenQ also says its e-Reading clamp does not fit Genie. Check the exact desk edge, clearance and package contents before relying on either plan.

The cycle-19 Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR, Organizer 7QC00W, Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR and Pivoting Bankers Lamp 277G59-SHPR document tabletop bases, not clamps. Their flexible or counterbalance arm movements, charging features and storage do not create a clamp plan.

Compare the e-Reading assessment and its separate accessory with the White 18w FlexArm Plus A13WG2-SHPR, which documents an included base-and-clamp conversion kit. Open the finder for the documented clamp arrangement; it returns both reviewed configurations.

The White SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S joins the base-mounted library, not the clamp set: its exact instructions say to place it on a flat surface and do not document a clamp arrangement.

When a clip-on attachment is essential

The cycle-23 Multi-Device Charging Station, Thrive SCEY708S and LED Task Light 290009/290G59 each document a tabletop-base setup rather than a clip. Their device-charging stands, flex neck or folding shade do not supply the Switch family's separate clip-on arrangement; see the exact Multi-Device, Thrive and LED Task Light assessments.

Decision: The reviewed Black CSR07G5W-SHPR and White OTTCSR0708C Switch variants share the one documented clip-on product family. The current page links the shared manual, which describes attaching its magnetic light to the included clip on a suitable desk or shelf support; it gives no clip-jaw opening range. Confirm the actual surface and exact retail SKU rather than treating a clip as a desk clamp or assuming it fits a particular shelf.

The cycle-19 Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR, Organizer 7QC00W, Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR and Pivoting Bankers Lamp 277G59-SHPR each document a tabletop base, not a clip. Their USB output, wireless pad, battery, ring head or storage features do not add an edge-mounted option; compare the exact Harmonize, Organizer, Ring and Bankers reviews.

The Switch assessment preserves both current finish codes and their shared supported arrangements. Open the finder for the documented clip-on arrangement.

The White SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S is another tabletop base, not a clip-on lamp; its extra purifier functions are not a supported edge attachment.

When two or more linked arm sections matter

Cycle 23 adds no qualifying two-section support: Multi-Device and Thrive describe flexible necks, while LED Task Light has a folding shade/hinge and integrated standing support. The exact sources do not count at least two linked supporting-arm sections for any of these models; their form should not be mistaken for a documented reach arrangement. Read the Multi-Device, Thrive and LED Task Light reviews for the exact distinctions.

Decision: Seven reviewed models document at least two linked supporting-arm sections: BenQ e-Reading; OttLite Adapt CS01B19-SHPR, Refine F1D83BN9-SHPR/F1D83BR9-SHPR, Turquoise Revive and White Prevention Pharmacy F148500P; and the 18w FlexArm Plus A13WG2-SHPR and Entice Blue CSDQA80W-SHPR / Metallic Silver CSDQA02W-SHPR. Adapt’s exact manual labels two adjustable poles and locking thumbscrews, and its inspected image shows the linked tabletop support. The Revive page lists three adjustment knobs, its manual shows their positions, and its exact Turquoise image shows two links between the base and shade. The FlexArm Plus page identifies dual flex joints; Entice's page identifies two articulation points on its aluminum arm. Genie explicitly has one supporting section, so it falls below the two-section boundary. A flexible neck—including the Beam, Extended Reach CSN85G5C-SHPR / CSN8500C-SHPR, Adjust, the Good Housekeeping Sanitizing lamp, and the Space Organizer, Strive, Good Housekeeping Circular, Wide Area, Power Up, both non-USB and USB-equipped Creative Curves, the Vibe, Prevention, Curve, the CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp and both finishes in Cool Breeze—does not establish linked sections. The Good Housekeeping table lamp adjusts its shade support with a turn-key rather than documenting two linked arm sections. Gray Good Housekeeping Modern's shade pivots up and down; Swivel also has a shade pivot; the Folding hinge and Slimline's two adjustment joints are not two linked supporting arms. The sanitizing model's stated articulation points are not an exact count of linked supporting-arm sections. The Revive, Adapt, e-Reading, FlexArm Plus and Entice have the relevant articulated support, but their footprint and reach still need a separate desk-fit check. Cycle 16 adds no new two-section model: Purify SCNQC00S and Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR lack a documented linked-arm count, while Direct CS01BS9-SHPR has one counterbalance arm; see the Purify, Charge Up and Direct assessments.

Cycle 17 adds no qualifying second linked section: Prevention CSE13G5P's folding shade/body movement does not establish a two-link arm, Cone 286SV9 and Twist CSNWC51W use flexible necks, Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR has two adjustable heads on flexible necks rather than two supporting arms, and Balance CS01KA9-SHPR has one counterbalance arm. See the exact Prevention, Cone, Twist, Dual Shade and Balance assessments rather than treating a fold, flexible neck or pair of light heads as two linked supporting-arm sections.

Cycle 19 adds no two-linked-section candidate. Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR has one counterbalance arm; Organizer 7QC00W and Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR have flexible necks; and Pivoting Bankers Lamp 277G59-SHPR has a flexible neck plus a separate shade pivot. The exact sources do not count two linked supporting sections on any of them. See the Harmonize, Organizer, Rechargeable Ring and Pivoting Bankers assessments.

Cycle 24 adds a seventh supported example: the Brushed Nickel F1D83BN9-SHPR and Antique Brass F1D83BR9-SHPR Refine share a code-specific manual that labels an arm and arm section and shows two thumbscrew-adjusted links before the separate swiveling shade. This is a structural count, not a reach or fit test.

Cycle 25 adds no model to that seven-product result. The Cobra, Recharge and Gleam manuals describe a flexible neck, while Slimline's two adjustment points refer to the upright lamp body and pivoting head—not two linked supporting arms. See the Cobra, Slimline, Recharge and Gleam reviews for the exact distinctions.

Compare the two-section e-Reading, Adapt CS01B19-SHPR with two locking pole sections, the Turquoise Revive with 6.5–15.5-inch listed height, Prevention Pharmacy F148500P with its two supporting links, Brushed Nickel/Antique Brass Refine, the FlexArm Plus with two flex joints and an included base/clamp kit, Entice with two arm-articulation points and the one-section Genie. The Extended Reach flex neck and its height range are not evidence of two linked arm sections. Open the finder for all seven currently documented two-section products.

Current answer: two or more linked arm sections

Decision: Thirteen reviewed models document at least two linked supporting-arm sections: BenQ e-Reading; Dyson Solarcycle Morph CD06; Humanscale Nova, Infinity, Element Disc, Element Vision and Element 790; and OttLite Adapt, Refine, Turquoise Revive, Prevention Pharmacy, 18w FlexArm Plus and Entice.

Nova's official page identifies lower and upper sections; exact Humanscale images show two support links on the Element trio and on Infinity. Horizon 2.0, by contrast, is explicitly described as a single arm. These are structural distinctions, not a reach or collision-free fit map. The three Element models' listed 28-inch reach and 18-inch working height are independent stated dimensions, not a guarantee that an arm clears your display or shelf. Each model has selected base and clamp configurations, so an arm-section answer does not settle mount, desk clearance or package choice. Dyson Morph CD06 is another verified two-section base lamp; the Solarcycle CD05 is deliberately not counted because its three-axis Glide does not establish two linked support members.

Compare the Dyson Solarcycle Morph CD06, the Element Disc, Element Vision, Element 790, Nova, Infinity, e-Reading and FlexArm Plus assessments. Open the finder for all thirteen models with documented linked sections.

The SanitizingPRO's flexible neck can aim its shade, but its exact sources do not count linked supporting-arm sections; the base-mounted purifier does not alter that boundary.

Cycle 17 saved clip plus two linked sections result (historical snapshot)

Decision: Requiring both a clip-on attachment and at least two linked supporting-arm sections produces no match among the reviewed models.

No-match explanation: The Black CSR07G5W-SHPR and White OTTCSR0708C Switch variants share the only documented clip-on arrangement, but their magnetic head and included clip are not documented with two linked supporting-arm sections. BenQ e-Reading, Turquoise Revive and Prevention Pharmacy F148500P have two linked supporting sections, but their sources describe a tabletop base or, for e-Reading, a separate clamp—not a clip. The White CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp and the White/Grey Cool Breeze family document tabletop bases and flexible necks, not clip plans or two linked arm sections. Purify SCNQC00S and Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR do not document two linked sections, while Direct CS01BS9-SHPR documents one counterbalance arm. Prevention CSE13G5P, Cone 286SV9, Twist CSNWC51W, Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR and Balance CS01KA9-SHPR also have base plans, not clips; their folds, flexible necks, paired heads and single counterbalance arm do not establish two linked support sections. The remaining reviewed products do not document both conditions either; this empty result covers the forty-one reviewed product records, not every lamp on the market.

Read the shared Black/White Switch assessment and the e-Reading arm assessment, or open the finder with both clip and two-section requirements retained.

Base plus a two-section arm

Decision: For a tabletop-base setup, thirteen reviewed models document two linked supporting sections: BenQ e-Reading; Dyson Solarcycle Morph CD06; Humanscale Nova, Infinity, Element Disc, Element Vision and Element 790; and OttLite Adapt CS01B19-SHPR, Brushed Nickel/Antique Brass Refine F1D83BN9-SHPR/F1D83BR9-SHPR, Turquoise Revive, Prevention Pharmacy F148500P, 18w FlexArm Plus A13WG2-SHPR, and Entice Blue CSDQA80W-SHPR / Metallic Silver CSDQA02W-SHPR. e-Reading and FlexArm Plus also have documented clamp plans, but their clamp packages differ. Refine's two support links and separate shade swivel are shown in its code-family manual. Check the base footprint and each arm path around your screen rather than treating a listed height or a section count as a reach map.

The five cycle-17 additions do not extend this base-plus-two-section result: Cone and Twist have flexible necks, Dual Shade's two heads are not two linked support arms, Prevention's folding shade/body does not document linked arm sections, and Balance specifies a single counterbalance arm. See their individual assessments before deciding whether those other configurations suit the desk.

Compare the Solarcycle Morph CD06, the e-Reading assessment, the Adapt assessment, the Brushed Nickel/Antique Brass Refine assessment, the Turquoise Revive assessment, the Prevention Pharmacy assessment, FlexArm Plus and Entice, or open the finder with both the base and two-section-arm requirements retained.

The SanitizingPRO contributes to the base-only set but does not enter this intersection: its flexible neck is not documented as two linked supporting sections.

Clamp plus a two-section arm

Decision: e-Reading also has the only documented combination of a compatible clamp plan and at least two linked arm sections. This match requires BenQ's separate compatible Desk Clamp; the arm-section count is a property of the lamp, but the clamp arrangement is a different operating plan from its supplied base. Confirm the clamp itself and desk-edge fit before purchasing.

Read the e-Reading assessment, or open the finder with both requirements retained.

SanitizingPRO documents neither a clamp plan nor a linked-section count, so its filter and UVC functions do not change the clamp-plus-arm result.

Current interaction: clip support plus two linked sections

Cycle 23's Multi-Device Charging Station, Thrive SCEY708S and LED Task Light 290009/290G59 remain tabletop-base plans; their flexible necks or folding shade do not add a clip or a documented two-section arm. Cycle 24 adds Travel Rechargeable CSRD300W-SHPR and Natural Daylight A34009-SHPR/A34G5B-SHPR as base-only lamps with, respectively, a folding body and one flexible neck. Refine F1D83BN9-SHPR/F1D83BR9-SHPR does document two linked sections, but its reviewed plans are tabletop bases rather than a clip.

Decision: Requiring both a clip-on arrangement and at least two linked supporting-arm sections still returns no match in the current-reference comparison.

No-match explanation: The Black CSR07G5W-SHPR and White OTTCSR0708C Switch family documents the only clip-on arrangement, but its manual does not count two linked supporting-arm sections. BenQ e-Reading, Adapt CS01B19-SHPR, Refine F1D83BN9-SHPR/F1D83BR9-SHPR, Turquoise Revive and Prevention Pharmacy F148500P document two linked sections but no clip; FlexArm Plus has two joints and an included clamp, and Entice has two articulation points, but neither has a clip plan. Other examples remain distinct: flexible necks on Beam, Extended Reach, Adjust, SanitizingPRO, Purify, Charge Up, the cycle-23 Multi-Device/Thrive lamps and cycle-24 Natural Daylight do not establish linked sections, while Direct has one counterbalance arm and LED Task Light 290009/290G59 has a folding shade rather than a counted linked support. Travel Rechargeable's folding body does not count as two linked arm sections. The newly reviewed Multi-Device, Thrive, LED Task Light, Travel and Natural Daylight arrangements are tabletop plans, not clips; Refine supplies the new two-section example but no clip. This is an evidence-limited empty result in the current-reference comparison, not a claim about every lamp on the market.

Cycle 17 adds no joint clip-plus-two-section product: Prevention CSE13G5P's folding parts do not document linked arms, Cone 286SV9 and Twist CSNWC51W use flexible necks, Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR has two heads but no two-link support, and Balance CS01KA9-SHPR has one counterbalance arm. Each new assessment documents a tabletop base, not a clip.

The cycle-18 Renew, Mood, MCC00Z-SHPR, Aglow Organizer and Swerve entries likewise use tabletop bases. Renew and MCC00Z have adjustable lamp structures, Mood and Swerve use flexible necks, and Aglow's organizer/charging base does not establish a clip or two linked supporting sections. These five do not change the empty clip-plus-two-section result. The four cycle-19 records also document tabletop bases, not clips: Harmonize's counterbalance arm is one arm; Organizer and Rechargeable Ring use flexible necks; Bankers has a flexible neck and a shade pivot rather than two linked supporting arms. None meets both conditions.

Compare the Switch clip setup, the e-Reading two-section arm, the Revive arm, the two-section FlexArm Plus with included clamp, base-mounted Entice and the SanitizingPRO base and flexible neck. Open the finder with both the clip and two-section-arm requirements retained.

Cycle 26 saved tabletop-base answer (historical snapshot)

Decision: All seventy-one individually reviewed complete lamp records document a tabletop-base plan; that support choice does not by itself establish fit, reach, or light output.

Four cycle-25 models add distinct base-mounted options: Black LED Cobra 2CRG5B-FFP has a flex neck, nine brightness steps and USB output but no published numeric Ra or 90 cm-at-500-lux width; Black and White Slimline has CRI 95+ and two adjustment points, not two linked supporting arms; White Recharge CS5900W has a rechargeable battery and maker-listed 275-lumen maximum; Black Gleam has a 5 W wireless pad and published CRI 95+. Their controls and charging functions do not establish thresholded beam width.

Cycle 26 adds two further base plans with different desk roles. White Charging Station CSA77WGC-SHPR combines a tablet/phone stand and storage with a wired 5 V / 2.1 A device port and a page-published CRI 95; its listed base is 6.125 by 7.5 inches. White Clarify CSD9000W has a 5.3125-inch round base, four manual touch levels and a flex neck, but no published numeric CRI or thresholded width in the reviewed source set. The former's device features do not prove device fit or wide coverage; the latter's neck does not establish a two-section arm. Their exact reviews keep those differences and unknowns distinct.

The current base-only finder condition includes all seventy-one reviewed tabletop arrangements: compare the complete base match set.

Cycle 23 adds three different tabletop plans, each preserved as its own product identity. The White VWC009-WA / Black VWCG59-WA / White with Round Shade VW2009 Multi-Device Charging Station puts a flexible-neck lamp over distinct phone/earbud charging positions and a stand for the buyer's own watch charger; the linked manual does not name the later VW2009 code. White Thrive SCEY708S combines manual ClearSun/sanitizing controls, clock/alarm, CRI 95+ and a 5 V/2.1 A USB output; its coin-cell warning and unvalidated sanitizing claim remain important. White 290009 and Black 290G59 LED Task Light instead use three buyer-supplied AAA cells and an open/close shade switch, with no documented dimmer. These are not interchangeable lamp plans: the first emphasizes charging layout, the second combines desk light and display/mode features, and the third is portable. None documents the separate 90 cm-at-500-lux width, an included clamp or clip, or two linked supporting-arm sections.

For this option, “base” describes how the lamp stands on the desk—not how much room the fixture occupies or how widely it lights. The five cycle-18 additions make that distinction concrete. Black Renew F1DY8G59-SHPR has a 5.5-by-7.25-inch base, six brightness levels, a clock/date/temperature display and alarm; its published CRI 95 does not turn the separate 400-lumen maximum into a width measured at 500 lux. White Mood CSB3000W has a 3.94-inch-diameter base beneath a continuous flexible neck; its colored base effect is distinct from task-light Kelvin settings, which its sources do not specify. MCC00Z-SHPR has three manual task-light temperatures (3,000, 4,000 and 5,000 K), three brightness steps and a separate color-changing base, but its exact source does not list a base diameter. White Aglow Organizer CS6W300W combines an organizer area with a device-dependent charging surface rated up to 5 W; its 6.9-by-4.9-inch base and 14-to-18-inch listed height are specific fit checks, not a reach map. Black Swerve CSN34KCW has a flexible neck described as extending 20 inches, but that is not a two-linked-arm design or a full lamp-height measure.

Those five cycle-18 lamps use different control and desk-space plans, and none documents the distinct 90 cm (35.4 in) at 500 lux width, a clamp or a clip. A color-temperature range, a lumen figure, a flexible neck, a charging feature or a decorative colored base is not a substitute for those requirements.

Cycle 19 adds four exact tabletop configurations with their own geometry. Brushed Steel Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR lists a 6-inch base and counterbalance arm; White Organizer 7QC00W has a 3.1875-by-6.75-inch charging/pen-storage base and must not be conflated with Aglow CS6W300W; White Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR has a 6.25-inch base and an internal battery; Black Pivoting Bankers Lamp 277G59-SHPR uses an organizer base and corded USB output. They all document tabletop bases, not clamps or clips, and none has a source-stated 90 cm-at-500-lux width or two linked supporting-arm sections. Harmonize and the Ring have published CRI 95/95+ claims, but those are separate from desk coverage.

Cycle 20 adds four more exact base plans, each with a different practical tradeoff. White Command CS59029-SHPR lists a 7.5-inch base, local five-step dimming and optional voice control; its networked route requires compatible external equipment. Matte Black with Gold Accents Adapt CS01B19-SHPR has a 6-inch base and two linked poles adjusted with locking thumbscrews. Black Merge CS7QAK1W combines a short listed height range with a small organizer and Qi stand, while Black Infuse CSA26G5Q pairs a flexible neck and Qi base with a page-listed USB output that its exact manual does not mention. Command, Adapt and Infuse publish CRI 95; Merge’s exact sources give no numeric Ra. None documents the separate 90 cm-at-500-lux width.

Cycle 21 adds Black Shine CS03KQI-SHPR and White Inspire CS3QN4WW as distinct base plans. Shine has a six-inch base, flexible neck, manual 2,700/4,000/5,000 K modes, a 270-lumen listing, Qi charging and a separate USB output confirmed in its manual. Inspire has a 7.375-by-3.875-inch base, three stepped brightness levels, a separate base night light and a Qi pad; its exact page/manual do not document Kelvin settings, a lumen maximum or a wired USB port. Their CRI claims (95 and 95+) meet the color threshold, but neither source set establishes the 90 cm-at-500-lux width or two linked sections.

Cycle 22 adds three different base plans. The Black CSN85G5C-SHPR / White CSN8500C-SHPR Extended Reach LED Desk Lamp lists a 6.5-inch base, a 9.75–27-inch height range and maker-published CRI 95+, but its flexible neck is not a counted two-section arm and the page gives no 500-lux width. White 18w FlexArm Plus A13WG2-SHPR uses a replaceable non-dimmable pin-based CFL and includes alternate tabletop-base and clamp setups; its arm and the two-section Entice should be checked against their separate mount, arm and light-control needs. Entice also adds manual Kelvin modes and Qi/USB device charging, but its exact page/manual do not publish numeric Ra or wide-coverage values.

Cycle 24 adds three distinct base arrangements. White Travel Rechargeable CSRD300W-SHPR folds for storage and has a stated 3.5-inch base, but its maker-listed 1.5–3-hour battery runtime and separate CR2032 display cell need to fit the intended routine. White A34009-SHPR and Black A34G5B-SHPR Natural Daylight LED Flex share a single flex neck, supplied AC adapter and three touch levels; their 400-lumen maximum is not a 500-lux width measurement. Brushed Nickel F1D83BN9-SHPR and Antique Brass F1D83BR9-SHPR Refine share a 7.125-inch base, two linked support sections and a separate USB output; its published CRI 95 does not establish a broad work field. These model-specific differences matter even though each fits the same base-only questionnaire choice.

Compare the individually sourced Black Renew display lamp, White Aglow Organizer, Extended Reach, 18w FlexArm Plus and Entice when their distinct geometry or controls matter; check each exact footprint, adapter and adjustment diagram against your own desk. This visible answer retains the broad base-only condition: open the finder for all eighty reviewed current-reference base arrangements.

Current answer: tabletop-base arrangements

Decision: All 80 current-reference complete-lamp reviews document at least one tabletop-base operating plan. This does not mean every base is included in every offer or establish desk fit, reach, or light output.

For this Humanscale group, Element Disc, Element Vision and Element 790 all document selected Desktop Base configurations, and their live configurators also offer Technology Base X and Y. Those power-base choices are alternatives with different outlet counts, not evidence of a known desk footprint. The earlier Nova, four-finish Horizon 2.0 and Infinity also document base configurations; ScreenBar Max's optional base is separately sold and must not be conflated with its included clamp.

Solarcycle CD05 and Solarcycle Morph CD06 are additional documented base arrangements; Morph has two linked arm sections, while CD05 does not meet that separate structural condition.

Open the finder for all 80 current-reference tabletop-base models; then use each exact review to check footprint, surface, adapter, assembly and any separately required support.

Current answer: clamp-mounted arrangements

Decision: Eight reviewed lamp families document at least one clamp-mounted plan: BenQ e-Reading, OttLite 18w FlexArm Plus and ScreenBar Max, plus Humanscale Nova, Infinity, Element Disc, Element Vision and Element 790.

The package and support restrictions differ. ScreenBar Max lists a 6 cm desk limit; FlexArm Plus's manual limits its clamp to a firm platform up to 1½ inches. e-Reading's compatible clamp is separate and does not fit Genie. The three Element configurators list Clamp C, Clamp with Grommet Cover G, and a 2-Piece Clamp with Theft Deterrent T; the captured Silver C routes are ECECS, EVECS and EDECS. These are selected mount configurations, not the Desktop Base codes. Humanscale does not publish jaw ranges in the reviewed sources, so confirm the exact configuration and desk edge against current instructions. A clip such as Switch's is not a clamp; wall and slatwall options do not answer this desk-clamp choice.

Earlier lamps and the clamp-package distinction

Mount choice and lifecycle are separate questions, but they change a clamp shortlist together. BenQ marks MindDuo 2's exact U.S. SKU as discontinued while documenting a supplied matched pedestal base and a compatible desk clamp sold separately. Its clamp is optional equipment, not evidence that an offer includes it; the reviewed compatibility page excludes tubular surfaces and limits the desk thickness to 6 cm. This is a historical configuration comparison, not a stock or fit guarantee.

Decision: With earlier models included, a clamp arrangement returns nine reviewed lamps, adding the discontinued MindDuo 2 to the eight current-reference options.

Compare the MindDuo 2 and e-Reading assessments with the included-clamp ScreenBar Max. Open the finder with earlier models and clamp mounting retained.

Decision: With earlier models excluded, the clamp result returns eight current-reference lamps; MindDuo 2 is absent solely because of its lifecycle label.

Open the finder with current-only status and clamp mounting retained.

Package inclusion is a further filter, not the same as compatibility. The e-Reading and MindDuo 2 clamps are separate accessories; ScreenBar Max includes its clamp arm, OttLite 18w FlexArm Plus supplies a clamp-and-base conversion kit, and Humanscale's selected C/G/T configurations are different from its tabletop-base options. Check the exact configuration and desk edge: the cited ScreenBar Max limit is 6 cm, FlexArm Plus specifies a firm surface no thicker than 1½ inches, and reviewed Humanscale sources do not publish clamp-jaw ranges.

Decision: When an included clamp is required, seven exact clamp configurations remain whether earlier models are allowed or not; the separate MindDuo 2 and e-Reading accessories do not satisfy package inclusion.

Compare the included-clamp ScreenBar Max and 18w FlexArm Plus assessments with their model-specific checks. Open the finder with earlier models, clamp mounting, and exact-package inclusion retained; the current-only version of the same package check returns the same seven.
