Features
Manual dimming, color temperature and automatic modes
Control features are easiest to compare when each one has a clear job. Dimming changes brightness, color-temperature adjustment changes the selected warm-to-cool setting, a preset supplies a chosen mode, and a sensor can automate a change under a stated condition. One does not imply the others.
Manual adjustment is different from automatic selection
The BenQ e-Reading and Genie product pages describe a knob for brightness and a press-and-turn action for color temperature, alongside sensor-assisted paper and screen modes. Both models' manufacturer pages list 23 brightness levels and 13 color-temperature levels between 2,700 K and 5,700 K. Those are the maker's stated control steps; this guide has not measured their increments or sensor response. If you prefer to make the choice yourself, the manual control matters even when the lamp also advertises automatic modes.
Ask what the sensor detects
Check the exact model page or manual for what its sensor responds to, what modes are available, and how a user overrides the automatic setting. “Smart” does not explain whether the lamp responds to room light, presence, time of day or an app. A mode designed for a paper surface is not automatically the right setting for a screen, and a screen mode cannot guarantee that a specific monitor will show no reflection.
Color rendering is not color temperature
Color temperature is commonly expressed in kelvins and describes a setting along a warm-to-cool range. Ra is a separate color-rendering index. A high listed Ra value does not describe a warm or cool preference; a wide Kelvin range does not establish a particular color-rendering value. For detailed work, compare both if both are important, and preserve the exact thresholds in the manufacturer source.
Check the service path for integrated LEDs
Many task lamps use an integrated light source rather than an ordinary bulb socket. BenQ's US lighting information says its LED source is not user-replaceable. If bulb replacement matters to you, check the exact model's construction and repair route before purchase. A published rated lifespan is a maker claim about a specified basis; it is not a promise that a particular lamp will last for a given person or that a failed light source can be replaced at home.
For an example of why mode labels should be checked against model identity, compare the individual e-Reading and Genie assessments. Their headline control modes overlap, while their support geometry and clamp compatibility differ.
When both automatic paper and screen modes are essential
Cycle 23 adds no sensor-mode match. Multi-Device lists manual color modes, Thrive's ClearSun/sanitizing modes are manually selected, and LED Task Light's open/close switching is mechanical; none documents automatic paper-and-screen sensing. Compare the exact Multi-Device, Thrive and LED Task Light reviews rather than reading “mode” or “automatic” as ambient adjustment.
Decision: Among current-reference lamps, the e-Reading Desk Lamp and Genie are the two reviewed products whose manufacturer sources document both paper and screen modes with ambient sensing. Manual dimming by itself does not meet this choice. The White CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp, both White/Grey Cool Breeze variants, Beam CS334W1W, Pharmacy F148500P, Good Housekeeping table lamp OTTCL4QTPNGH, Adjust CS01KC9-SHPR and Good Housekeeping Sanitizing SCAY000GH, Purify SCNQC00S, Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR and Direct CS01BS9-SHPR have no documented automatic paper-and-screen sensor pair in their exact source sets. Purify’s ClearSun/sanitizing states, Charge Up’s three color modes and Direct’s three manual Kelvin settings are manually selected controls, not ambient mode sensing. The mode names also do not guarantee that a sensor will set the right level for your particular page, monitor, room light, or viewing angle; confirm the exact control behavior in the current product information.
The current Element Disc and Element Vision materials describe PIR occupancy shutoff, not ambient paper-and-screen adjustment. For Element 790, the reviewed exact sources document a seven-level dimmer but do not establish an occupancy sensor or those two automatic modes. That distinction keeps occupancy switching, manual dimming and ambient-mode adaptation separate.
Cycle 25 adds no automatic-mode match. The Cobra's nine brightness levels and manual color-temperature choices, Slimline's three named manual modes, Recharge's three touch levels and Gleam's three manual color modes are all model controls; none documents both ambient paper and screen modes. Their exact reviews—Cobra, Slimline, Recharge and Gleam—distinguish those features from automatic sensing.
Read the e-Reading assessment and the Genie assessment. Open the finder for products documenting both modes.
The cycle-18 OttLite Renew, Mood, MCC00Z-SHPR, Aglow Organizer and Swerve reviews add no documented automatic paper-and-screen pair; Renew's display, manual brightness controls, colored bases and manual Kelvin settings are not the sensor modes required here. They remain outside the same paper/screen finder condition unless a current exact source documents that paired automation.
Cycle 19 adds no automatic paper/screen match: Harmonize has manual touch brightness and Kelvin selections; Organizer 7QC00W has manual mode/dimming touches; Rechargeable Ring has a manual touch switch; and the Pivoting Bankers Lamp has three touch-selected brightness levels. These are exact-model controls, not an ambient-sensor paper/screen pair. Review Harmonize, Organizer, Rechargeable Ring and Pivoting Bankers for the control details; the same-condition finder retains both required automatic modes.
Cycle 20 adds no paper/screen sensor pair. White Command CS59029-SHPR has local touch steps and optional voice control, but voice activation is not the two ambient-sensor modes. Adapt CS01B19-SHPR, Merge CS7QAK1W and Infuse CSA26G5Q document manual touch-selected controls rather than both automatic paper and screen modes. These exact alternatives do not change the two-model result.
The White SanitizingPRO SC1AP00S has three user-selected brightness levels and three manual ClearSun/sanitizing combinations, not documented ambient paper/screen sensing. The separate fan control selects airflow; neither control supplies the required sensor pair.
Interaction decision: If you also require a tabletop base, the same two BenQ models remain the complete intersection: both base plans and both sensor modes are documented for each lamp. The other sixty base-mounted assessments do not establish both modes; examples include the cycle-23 Multi-Device Charging Station's manual color settings, Thrive SCEY708S's manually selected light/sanitizing states and LED Task Light's mechanical open/close action. Earlier examples include Purify's light/sanitizing states, Charge Up's color modes, Direct's manual brightness/Kelvin settings, Prevention's display/settings, Cone's switch, Twist's selected modes, Dual Shade's touch controls, Curve/Revive's touch controls, Modern's shade levels, the phone-holder lamp's color/dimming switch, Cool Breeze's light/fan controls, Command's voice feature and Adapt/Merge/Infuse manual controls. Manual dimming, a flexible neck, a charging feature, a display or a ring head cannot substitute for both ambient paper/screen modes. Open the finder with the base and automatic-mode requirements together.
Earlier models can change the automatic-mode shortlist
The automatic-mode choice is read alongside the lifecycle choice. The BenQ MindDuo 2 is a discontinued U.S. model whose sources document ambient-assisted paper and screen modes, so it belongs in a historical comparison only when earlier models are included. This does not imply current stock or that its settings will suit every page, monitor, or room.
Decision: When earlier models are allowed, three reviewed lamps document both ambient-assisted paper and screen routines: e-Reading, Genie, and the discontinued MindDuo 2.
Compare the MindDuo 2 assessment with the current-reference e-Reading and Genie assessments. Open the finder with earlier models and both automatic modes retained.
Decision: With earlier models excluded, two current-reference lamps document both routines: e-Reading and Genie; MindDuo 2 is omitted only by the lifecycle choice.
Open the finder with current-only status and both automatic modes retained.
Cycle 17 saved Ra 95 answer (historical snapshot)
Decision: The questionnaire threshold is a manufacturer-published Ra value of at least 95; twenty-eight reviewed product records meet that documentary condition. The candidates are the BenQ e-Reading and BenQ Genie (both list Ra≥95), OttLite Dimmable (95+), Flexible Soft Touch (95), White/Green Organize (95), Black Strive (95+), Black Pivot (95), White Pivot (95 on its listing), Black/White Switch (95+), Wireless Charging Table Lamp (conservatively recorded as 95 where its page gives both 97 and 95), Good Housekeeping Circular (95+), White Swivel (95+), White Wide Area (95), White Power Up (95), Black Vibe (95+), the two current Creative Curves with USB finishes (95), Black Curve CSA30G59 (95), Turquoise Revive F1485TU9-SHPR (95+) and Gray Good Housekeeping Modern CS8WA51GH (95+). The Prevention Pharmacy F148500P lists CRI 95; the Good Housekeeping table lamp OTTCL4QTPNGH lists CRI 95+; Adjust CS01KC9-SHPR lists CRI 95; and Good Housekeeping Sanitizing SCAY000GH lists CRI 95+. Purify SCNQC00S lists CRI 95+, and brass Direct CS01BS9-SHPR lists CRI 95. Cycle 17 adds Black Prevention CSE13G5P, Gray Twist CSNWC51W and black/brass Balance CS01KA9-SHPR, each with an exact-model manufacturer CRI 95 listing. These are maker-published values, not independent color tests. Curve's flexible neck, Revive's two-section arm and 400-lumen maximum, and Modern's pivoting cylindrical shade and charging base are different features; none supplies the separate 90 cm-at-500-lux width. The Power Up's 400-lumen listing, Vibe's ring head, the Space Organizer's 440-lumen maximum and the title “Wide Area” likewise do not establish coverage at a named lux threshold. The separate White Prevention CSAQC00P page and manual do not give numeric Ra/CRI, so its ClearSun wording remains unknown for this requirement; it is not the newly reviewed Black CSE13G5P. The exact phone-holder and Cool Breeze pages and Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR also have no numeric Ra/CRI value; ClearSun or broad color-accuracy language is not substituted for one. LED Cone 286SV9 and Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR have no numeric Ra value in their exact source sets. Creative Curves without USB, Folding 13W, Slimline 13W, Study, Space Organizer and Charge Up are also unknown in their reviewed exact source sets. Unknown does not prove a value below 95; Ra is separate from color temperature and coverage.
Open the finder for all twenty-eight product records with published Ra 95 or higher; the result set is not capped at the representative comparisons above.
SanitizingPRO's exact product page and manual do not publish a numeric Ra/CRI value. ClearSun branding and the separate sanitizing mode are not a substitute for the Ra 95 boundary.
Cycle 17 saved base-and-Ra interaction (historical snapshot)
Decision: Requiring both a documented base arrangement and manufacturer-published Ra of at least 95 leaves twenty-eight models in this reviewed set. Curve CSA30G59, Turquoise Revive F1485TU9-SHPR and Gray Good Housekeeping Modern CS8WA51GH join that intersection with distinct neck, arm, shade and device-charging arrangements. Organize CS59399-SHPR, Black Strive CSN30G5W, Black Vibe CS309G5W and USB-equipped Creative Curves CSA30WGC-SHPR/CSA30WTC-SHPR also qualify on maker-stated Ra values; their organizer cup, flexible or ring necks, USB outputs and rechargeability differ. The Good Housekeeping Circular, White Swivel, Wide Area and Power Up add other support and charging layouts. Pharmacy F148500P combines a 6.12-inch base with two linked sections and manual three-level touch dimming; the Good Housekeeping table lamp combines a replaceable E26 bulb, movable linen shade and 10 W wireless pad; Adjust adds three manually selected color temperatures (2700, 4000 and 5000 K) plus USB output; and Sanitizing SCAY000GH offers manual light/sanitizing states and USB output. Purify SCNQC00S adds a separate Qi stand and manually selected ClearSun/sanitizing states; brass Direct CS01BS9-SHPR has one counterbalance arm, a 6-inch base and manual 2700/4000/5000 K settings. Cycle 17 adds Black Prevention CSE13G5P with a 3.25-by-2.5-inch base and digital clock, Gray Twist CSNWC51W with a 5.125-inch Qi charging base, and Black/brass Balance CS01KA9-SHPR with one counterbalance arm and USB output; each has a published CRI 95. LED Cone 286SV9 and Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR remain outside this numeric-Ra set because their exact sources provide no numeric CRI/Ra. See the Prevention, Twist, Balance and Dual Shade assessments for those model-specific differences. White Prevention CSAQC00P has a base and charging routes but no published numeric Ra, so it remains outside this twenty-eight-model result. The White CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp, White/Grey Cool Breeze and Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR are also base-mounted, but their exact source sets give no numeric Ra/CRI, so none enters this 28-model filter. None of the twenty-eight documents the distinct 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Neither a shade style, neck, charging feature, phone stand, fan, lumen total nor a color-rendering statement establishes that wide 500-lux beam. Compare Organize, Strive, Vibe, Creative Curves with USB, Flexible Soft Touch, Dimmable, e-Reading, Genie, Black Pivot, White Pivot, Switch, Wireless Charging, Circular, Swivel, Wide Area, Power Up, Curve, Revive and Modern for their exact documented specifications, then inspect the three new product pages above. The full finder result contains all twenty-eight matches, and none of the manufacturer Ra figures is an independent color test.
For exact model-level evidence, see the Prevention Pharmacy F148500P, Good Housekeeping table lamp OTTCL4QTPNGH, Adjust CS01KC9-SHPR and Good Housekeeping Sanitizing SCAY000GH assessments, alongside the other linked reviews above.
Open the finder with both the tabletop-base and published-Ra requirements retained.
SanitizingPRO belongs to the base-only set but lacks a numeric Ra statement, so it is outside the twenty-eight-model base-plus-Ra intersection.
Clip support plus published Ra 95 or higher
Among the cycle-23 lamps, Thrive is the one with a published Ra 95+ value, but its documented support is a tabletop base rather than a clip. Multi-Device and LED Task Light likewise have base arrangements but no numeric Ra claim; none changes the exact clip-plus-Ra result.
Decision: The reviewed Switch family is the only model combining an included clip-on arrangement for a suitable support with OttLite's published CRI 95+ statement. Its current Black CSR07G5W-SHPR and White OTTCSR0708C variants share the attached instructions; the magnetic light can attach to the included clip, but the manual gives no jaw opening. The color-rendering value is a maker claim, not a test performed here. Purify SCNQC00S, Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR and Direct CS01BS9-SHPR document tabletop bases, not an included clip arrangement. Check the exact retail SKU and the actual edge or shelf separately.
Read the Black/White Switch assessment, or open the finder with both the clip and Ra requirements retained.
Cycle 17 adds no clip-plus-Ra match: Prevention CSE13G5P, Cone 286SV9, Twist CSNWC51W, Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR and Balance CS01KA9-SHPR all document tabletop-base plans rather than an included clip. Their CRI, flexible neck, dual heads or charging/speaker functions do not create the separate clip plan. Use the finder with clip and Ra requirements retained for the documented Switch-family result.
Cycle 18 adds no clip-plus-Ra candidate either: Renew publishes CRI 95 but only a tabletop base, while Mood, MCC00Z-SHPR, Aglow Organizer and Swerve likewise document base plans without a clip; the latter four also lack numeric Ra in their exact source sets. Keep the same clip-and-Ra finder condition rather than treating a qualifying color figure as a support plan.
Cycle 20 likewise adds no clip-plus-Ra result. Command, Adapt and Infuse publish CRI 95 but each documents a tabletop base rather than a clip; Merge has a tabletop-base/Qi arrangement but no numeric Ra claim. Adapt's two linked support poles satisfy a different geometry question and do not imply an edge clip. The same-condition finder still returns only the documented Switch clip family.
Automatic modes, wide-width claim and Ra 95
Thrive SCEY708S adds a manufacturer-published Ra 95+ claim but not the other two conditions: its mode choices are manual and its sources do not state the required width. Multi-Device's manual color modes and LED Task Light's mechanical shade switch likewise establish neither paired sensing nor a 90 cm-at-500-lux field; none is a match for the three-condition finder.
Decision: For a paper-and-screen routine that also makes both a 90 cm-at-500-lux width and published Ra 95-or-higher non-negotiable, only e-Reading and Genie are in this reviewed set. Their sources document both modes, the specified width, and Ra≥95. Strive's Ra 95+ claim is real but its exact page does not document the other two conditions; the Space Organizer's 440-lumen maximum is neither a 500-lux width nor an Ra figure. Good Housekeeping Circular, Swivel and Wide Area also publish Ra values at or above 95, but their exact sources do not establish both the required automatic modes and thresholded width. The CSR1600C-SHPR phone-holder lamp documents manual color changes and battery use; Cool Breeze documents manual Kelvin settings and a fan, but neither has the three required documented claims. Purify SCNQC00S publishes CRI 95+ but provides manually selected states and no 90 cm-at-500-lux width; Direct CS01BS9-SHPR publishes CRI 95 but offers manual controls and no specified width; Charge Up CS3QB009-SHPR has manual modes but no numeric Ra or width. These are distinct manufacturer specifications: automatic selection does not prove a particular screen has no reflection, the width claim is not a room measurement, and the Ra figure is not an independent sample test.
Compare the e-Reading review and Genie review. Open the finder with all three requirements retained.
Cycle 19's Harmonize and Rechargeable Ring publish Ra values, but neither documents the 90 cm-at-500-lux width or automatic paper/screen pair. Organizer and Pivoting Bankers do not publish numeric Ra and likewise do not document either remaining condition. No new model enters the three-way set; the same three-condition finder retains the sensor, width and Ra requirements.
Cycle 20 adds no three-way match: Command publishes CRI 95, but its optional voice control is not paper/screen sensing and its sources give no specified width. Adapt publishes CRI 95 and has two linked poles, but no paper/screen automation or 90 cm-at-500-lux width is documented. Infuse publishes CRI 95 but likewise lacks the two remaining claims; Merge has no numeric Ra and does not document either thresholded width or the sensor pair. Their exact product reviews preserve those boundaries. Use the three-condition finder to keep all original choices together.
SanitizingPRO documents no paper/screen sensor pair, qualifying 500-lux width or numeric Ra; its extra filtered-air features do not alter this three-way lighting intersection.
The cycle-17 set also adds no three-way match: Black Prevention CSE13G5P, Gray Twist CSNWC51W and Black/brass Balance CS01KA9-SHPR publish CRI 95 but do not document paper/screen sensing or the 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Cone 286SV9 and Dual Shade NS2009-SHPR do not state a numeric Ra, width or sensor pair. Those products do not alter the e-Reading/Genie answer above; the same three-condition finder keeps each original requirement.
Cycle 18 also adds no three-way match: Renew publishes CRI 95 but no thresholded width or paper/screen automation; Mood, MCC00Z-SHPR, Aglow Organizer and Swerve have neither a documented numeric Ra threshold nor those other two exact claims. Their base, charging, color-control and flexible-neck differences remain useful model checks, not evidence for the three requirements. The three-condition finder keeps the original options together.
Cycle 26 saved Ra 95 answer (historical snapshot)
Decision: The questionnaire threshold is a manufacturer-published Ra value of at least 95; forty-three reviewed product records meet that documentary condition.
Cycle 25 adds three documented positives. Black and White CS336G5C-SHPR / CS33600C-SHPR Slimline LED Desk Lamp is listed at CRI 95+, with five brightness levels and three manual color modes. White Recharge CS5900W lists CRI 95 and 275 lumens; its approximately two-hour battery duration is a separate maker-stated figure. Black Gleam CSDWC4KW-WA publishes CRI 95+ and three manual color settings. These are OttLite claims, not independent Ra or light-field measurements, and none states a 90 cm-at-500-lux width. The Black Cobra 2CRG5B-FFP joins the base set but not this Ra set because its exact reviewed sources give no numeric Ra.
Cycle 26 adds White Charging Station CSA77WGC-SHPR to the published-CRI set: its exact page lists CRI 95 and its plan is tabletop-base only. Its tablet stand, storage and wired USB output do not establish width at 500 lux. White Clarify CSD9000W also has a base plan, but its exact page and manual do not publish a numeric Ra/CRI value; its ClearSun branding is not a number. Neither conclusion is an independent test.
Cycle 23 adds White Thrive SCEY708S to this documentary set because OttLite publishes CRI 95+; the stored value is the conservative lower bound, not an independent measurement. Its manually selected sanitizing mode and clock are separate features, and neither it nor the Ra claim establishes the 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Multi-Device VWC009-WA/VWCG59-WA/VW2009 and LED Task Light 290009/290G59 publish no numeric Ra in their exact reviewed sources, so their three color modes or 265-lumen maximum cannot stand in for this threshold.
The new positive is Black Renew F1DY8G59-SHPR: OttLite publishes CRI 95, six brightness levels and a maximum of 400 lumens. Read its model assessment for the display, adapter and base details. The CRI value meets this documentary filter, but it is a maker specification, not an independent color test; its 400-lumen maximum does not establish the separate 90 cm (35.4 in) width at 500 lux, and no automatic paper/screen pair is documented.
The other four cycle-18 models remain outside this threshold because their exact source sets give no numeric Ra value: Mood CSB3000W’s colored base is not a color-rendering score; MCC00Z-SHPR’s 3,000/4,000/5,000 K settings are color temperatures; Aglow Organizer’s 2,700/3,500/5,000 K modes and up-to-5-W wireless pad are separate features; and Swerve CSN34KCW’s qualitative “high” color-rendering phrase has no numeric value. None of those claims fills the maker-published Ra ≥95 boundary, while unknown remains unknown rather than proof of a low measured score.
Cycle 19 adds two exact OttLite products to the documented-Ra group: Brushed Steel Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR lists CRI 95, while White Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR lists CRI 95+. Both remain manufacturer claims, and neither exact source states a 90 cm width at 500 lux. By contrast, White Organizer 7QC00W and Black Pivoting Bankers Lamp 277G59-SHPR add useful base/charging or storage features but no numeric Ra figure in their exact source sets.
Cycle 20 adds three exact page-listed positives. White Command CS59029-SHPR publishes CRI 95 and a 510-lumen maximum; its voice feature is not the same as paper/screen sensing. Matte Black with Gold Accents Adapt CS01B19-SHPR publishes CRI 95 and 410 lumens, with a separate two-pole adjustment design. Black Infuse CSA26G5Q publishes CRI 95 on its current page; the exact manual and image-code caveats remain visible in its assessment. None of these three exact source sets establishes a 90 cm-at-500-lux width. Black Merge CS7QAK1W remains outside the numeric-Ra condition because its exact product page does not publish a Ra value.
Cycle 21 adds two different base-mounted positives. Black Shine CS03KQI-SHPR publishes CRI 95 and lists 270 lumens, three manual Kelvin modes, a Qi pad and a wired USB output; its manual resolves a malformed USB detail on the page. White Inspire CS3QN4WW publishes CRI 95+ and adds a separate base night light with Qi charging, but its exact page and instructions do not establish a wired USB output or selectable Kelvin modes despite a broad Shopify tag. Both maker-published Ra claims meet the documentary threshold, neither gives a 90 cm-at-500-lux width, and neither claim is an independent measurement.
Cycle 22 adds one more base-mounted positive: Black CSN85G5C-SHPR and White CSN8500C-SHPR Extended Reach has maker-published CRI 95+, three touch-selected brightness steps, a 6.5-inch base and a 9.75–27-inch height range. The exact sources give no numeric lumen maximum or 90 cm-at-500-lux width, and its flexible neck does not establish two linked support sections. White 18w FlexArm Plus and Blue/Silver Entice use articulated supports, but their reviewed exact source sets publish no numeric Ra; the Entice's manual Kelvin choices are not color-rendering scores.
Cycle 24 adds Brushed Nickel F1D83BN9-SHPR and Antique Brass F1D83BR9-SHPR Refine to the published-Ra set: both exact OttLite pages list CRI 95. Its manual separately documents two supporting sections and a USB output, but neither function changes the finder’s color threshold or supplies the absent 90 cm-at-500-lux width. The figure is a maker specification, not an independent color measurement.
The full answer retains the earlier individually researched candidates rather than capping the library at these examples; the BenQ e-Reading assessment is another directly documented example. The same-condition result is available through the finder for all forty-three reviewed records with published Ra at least 95. Ra, color temperature and coverage are distinct: none of the cycle-19 through cycle-26 additions documents both paper and screen sensor modes or a 90 cm width at the named 500-lux threshold.
Cycle 26 saved base-plus-Ra interaction (historical snapshot)
Decision: Requiring both a documented tabletop-base plan and manufacturer-published Ra of at least 95 leaves forty-three models in this reviewed set.
Cycle 26 adds the White Charging Station CSA77WGC-SHPR to this intersection because its exact page publishes CRI 95 and its plan uses a tabletop base. The White Clarify CSD9000W has a tabletop base but no exact-source numeric CRI/Ra value, so it is not treated as meeting the numeric threshold. Neither new model documents the separate 90 cm-at-500-lux width or automatic paper/screen pair.
All three cycle-25 published-Ra additions also have documented tabletop-base plans: Slimline CS336G5C-SHPR / CS33600C-SHPR publishes CRI 95+, Recharge CS5900W publishes CRI 95, and Gleam CSDWC4KW-WA publishes CRI 95+. Their color modes, battery or Qi functions do not supply the distinct 90 cm-at-500-lux width or automatic paper/screen modes. The same-condition finder below retains both base and Ra requirements.
Cycle 23 adds White Thrive SCEY708S to this intersection on OttLite's CRI 95+ statement and its documented tabletop base. It still lacks the distinct 90 cm-at-500-lux width and automatic paper/screen modes. The Multi-Device Charging Station's color modes and the LED Task Light's 265-lumen listing are not numeric Ra claims, so neither joins this intersection.
Renew is the only cycle-18 addition to this intersection: its exact Black page publishes CRI 95, and its operating plan is the supplied-adapter tabletop-base setup. Its 400-lumen maximum and display do not establish 90 cm at 500 lux or automatic paper/screen sensing. The White Mood, MCC00Z-SHPR, White Aglow Organizer and Black Swerve plans also use tabletop bases, but the reviewed exact sources do not give numeric Ra values for them. Their color-changing base, manual Kelvin settings, wireless charging pad and qualitative high-CRI language are not substitutes for the ≥95 requirement.
Cycle 19 adds the exact Brushed Steel Harmonize CS01SV9-SHPR with CRI 95 and White Rechargeable Ring CS30900C-SHPR with CRI 95+ to this base-and-Ra intersection. The Ring’s 360-degree description is not a measured width; both products lack the specified 90 cm-at-500-lux claim. Organizer 7QC00W and the Pivoting Bankers Lamp have base plans but no exact-source numeric Ra and do not enter this filter.
Cycle 20 adds White Command CS59029-SHPR, Matte Black with Gold Accents Adapt CS01B19-SHPR and Black Infuse CSA26G5Q: each is a tabletop-base plan and its exact OttLite page publishes CRI 95. Their separate voice, two-pole adjustment and Qi features do not establish the 90 cm-at-500-lux width or automatic paper/screen modes. Merge CS7QAK1W has a base, organizer and Qi stand but no numeric Ra claim on its exact page.
Cycle 21 adds Black Shine CS03KQI-SHPR (CRI 95) and White Inspire CS3QN4WW (CRI 95+) to the same base-plus-Ra set. Shine's three Kelvin modes and separate Qi/USB routes differ from Inspire's three brightness steps, Qi pad and switched base night light; Inspire's wired USB is not established by its model-specific sources. These distinctions inform use and package checks, but do not establish a wider light field or automatic paper/screen sensing.
Cycle 22 adds the Extended Reach CSN85G5C-SHPR / CSN8500C-SHPR to this intersection: OttLite publishes CRI 95+ and its fact record documents a tabletop base. It has a flexible neck rather than a two-linked-section arm, and no exact source states the specified 90 cm-at-500-lux width. The new FlexArm Plus and Entice use articulated sections, but their exact reviewed sources do not publish a numeric Ra figure, so neither qualifies for this Ra condition. Their flex joints and Kelvin modes cannot substitute for a numerical color-rendering value.
The current library contains distinct combinations of support and lighting facts; the public answer does not rank them or claim measured performance. Check the exact model’s other constraints separately, especially the finder’s 90 cm-at-500-lux coverage boundary and the two-linked-support-section threshold. Renew is the cycle-18 addition; compare its Black Renew review with the BenQ e-Reading review, and review the cycle-20 Command, Adapt and Infuse assessments, cycle-21 Shine and Inspire assessments, cycle-22 Extended Reach assessment and cycle-24 Refine assessment for their distinct support, control and charging plans. For the complete intersection, open the finder with both the base and published-Ra choices retained.
Current answer: a published Ra 95 threshold
Decision: The questionnaire threshold is a manufacturer-published Ra value of at least 95; 44 reviewed complete lamp models meet that documentary condition. Element Disc (CRI 80), Element Vision (CRI 89) and Element 790 (CRI 85) do not reach this published threshold.
The new ScreenBar Max adds a distinct current model: its exact US specifications list front-light Ra≥95 and separately list Rf≥96. Ra and Rf are not interchangeable. Its clamp is included, its base is optional, and its 135 cm width at 500 lux is a separate specification; none of these maker claims is an independent measurement.
Humanscale's three current Element models show why light output, color temperature and color rendering must stay distinct: Disc lists 3000 K with CRI 80, Vision 3000 K with CRI 89, and 790 3500 K with CRI 85. None meets the finder's Ra≥95 documentary boundary, and none of these published CRI figures is an independent measurement. Their detailed Disc, Vision and 790 reviews retain the different specifications and unknowns.
Compare the e-Reading assessment with ScreenBar Max, and use the reviews for exact package, light-mode and setup restrictions. Open the finder for the complete 44-model result set with published Ra≥95; an unknown Ra value remains unknown rather than a low measured score.
Current interaction: base plus published Ra 95 or higher
Decision: Requiring a tabletop-base plan and maker-published Ra of at least 95 leaves 44 reviewed models, including BenQ ScreenBar Max with its separately sold base option.
The included ScreenBar Max clamp and its freestanding base are alternative plans. Its exact specification page gives Ra≥95 for the front light and Rf≥96 as a separate value. The optional base does not arrive in the listed clamp package, and the numeric values are not independent tests.
Read the ScreenBar Max assessment and e-Reading assessment; open the finder with both the base and Ra requirements retained.
Clamp plus published Ra 95 or higher
Decision: The clamp-and-Ra intersection contains BenQ e-Reading with a separate compatible clamp and BenQ ScreenBar Max with its clamp arm in the exact package.
The shared numeric threshold does not make the packages equivalent. ScreenBar Max is desk-supported, has a 6 cm maximum clamp thickness and is not intended for monitor risers or shelves; e-Reading's clamp is separately purchased and does not fit Genie. Check each exact desk edge, accessory and return terms.

Earlier status, automatic modes, width and color rendering
These requirements intersect in the lamp itself: ambient-assisted paper and screen modes, at least 90 cm at 500 lux, and a published Ra value of at least 95. ScreenBar Max has the wide width and Ra claim but does not document the paired paper-and-screen modes; its screen-reading mode is not broadened to a paper mode here.
Decision: Including earlier models produces three matches—e-Reading, Genie and MindDuo 2—while the current-only condition leaves e-Reading and Genie.
MindDuo 2 is included only for the earlier-model answer; the exact US buy page marks its SKU discontinued. Its 95 cm width, Ra≥95 and paper/screen modes are maker statements, not independent measurements or a stock claim. Read the MindDuo 2 review alongside e-Reading and Genie.

Current-only status with automatic modes, width and color rendering
Decision: Excluding earlier models leaves e-Reading and Genie as the two reviewed models meeting both automatic modes, at least 90 cm at 500 lux, and Ra≥95; MindDuo 2 is excluded solely by the current-only lifecycle choice.
BenQ's exact US page marks MindDuo2-001 discontinued; it still publishes a 95 cm width and Ra≥95 and the manual describes paper and screen modes. That earlier result should not be read as a current-stock or measured-performance claim. ScreenBar Max cannot replace it in this four-condition comparison because paper mode is not documented.
