A useful fit for

A tabletop lamp to compare when manually selected 3,000–5,000 K light, three brightness steps, a flexible neck, decorative base color and wired USB are useful.

The main tradeoff

Its exact source set provides no numeric Ra, lumen maximum or 500-lux width, and does not document a linked two-section arm, clip/clamp, battery operation or automatic light modes. The base footprint is unreported.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

What task-light color temperatures can MCC00Z-SHPR select?

The manual lists 3,000 K, 4,000 K and 5,000 K manual settings, with 5,000 K as the default; the changing base effect is controlled separately.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does it meet the published Ra 95 finder choice?

No numeric CRI/Ra appears in the reviewed exact page or instructions; the Kelvin settings do not substitute for a published Ra value.

Explore this need in the finder →
Is the height range a full reach guarantee?

No. The page lists a 12-to-24.25-inch height adjustment, while the manual warns against overextension; neither source provides a complete horizontal reach map or base diameter.

OttLite’s LED Desk Lamp with Color Changing Base and USB (MCC00Z-SHPR) combines three manual task-light color modes with a separate color-changing base. That distinction matters: the lamp head can change its white color temperature, while the base has its own color wheel and cycling effect. The current U.S. product page, the one-variant Shopify record and the model-labelled manual establish the MCC00Z-SHPR identity. The image shows a white flexible-neck lamp, but the record’s variant title is only “Default Title,” so the product name is kept at the model level rather than inventing a separate finish variant.

Manual Kelvin choices, not automatic adaptation

The page lists warm white, bright white and natural daylight, with three brightness levels. The manual supplies the corresponding 3,000 K, 4,000 K and 5,000 K values and says 5,000 K is the default. Touch controls cycle the brightness, and holding the control changes task-light color temperature. These are manual settings; the reviewed sources do not document an ambient sensor or automatic paper-and-screen modes. Nor do they publish numeric CRI/Ra, total lumens, a center-lux result or a width measured at 500 lux. The presence of multiple Kelvin choices is not evidence for the finder’s separate published Ra 95 threshold or 90 cm coverage boundary.

The base’s color effect is separate. Its control can select a color from the wheel or cycle through colors; it can also be switched off. That ambient effect may be a useful aesthetic feature, but it does not change the beam’s cited three color temperatures. The product’s generic “natural daylight” wording is not a numerical photometric test. This review does not independently measure color, brightness, glare or comfort.

Flexible aiming needs desk clearance

OttLite lists an adjustable height range of 12 to 24.25 inches. The manual describes a flexible neck and movable shade and instructs the user to hold the base while repositioning the lamp. It warns against extending the assembly beyond its permitted range because that may destabilize or damage the fixture. The source diagram, rather than the product photo, is the right place to check movement if a particular monitor, shelf or drafting board sits close by. A flexible neck is a different mechanism from two linked support-arm sections; MCC00Z-SHPR does not meet that two-section description from the exact sources.

The product page does not provide a base diameter or footprint, so do not infer one from the circular appearance in the manufacturer image. The listed overall height range is also not a map of horizontal reach. Before selecting it for a small desk, check the actual base dimensions and adjustment clearances in the seller’s current package or manual. The exact SKU is corded; the base’s changing light does not provide a portable mode.

Adapter and USB output are separate

The instruction sheet specifies a supplied adapter with 100–240 V AC input and 12 V DC, 1.5 A output. A separate 5 V, 2.1 A USB output is described for phones and tablets. It is a wired device-charging port, not the lamp’s power input. The product uses integrated LEDs, and the manual says the light source cannot be replaced by the consumer. It also limits the lamp to indoor use and cautions against touching the LED panel after prolonged operation because it can become hot.

Check the included 12 V adapter, outlet position, USB cable routing and available tabletop area as part of setup. Do not interpret the USB rating as a promise that every attached device will charge at its fastest rate; the sources provide a port rating but not independent device tests. The model’s interface also asks the user to distinguish the base color control from the task-light switch, which is worth checking if other people will use the lamp.

Comparison and fit

MCC00Z-SHPR is a useful comparison when three manual color temperatures, three brightness steps, a flexible neck, decorative base color and wired USB output matter together. It differs from OttLite Mood CSB3000W: the exact Mood page describes a 256-color base and three brightness levels, but this MCC00Z model is the one whose manual specifies three task-light Kelvin settings. Their shared color-changing-base phrase is not enough to assume interchangeable controls, adapter details or light functions.

Choose another candidate if the essential requirement is published Ra 95 or higher, verified 90 cm coverage at 500 lux, a clamp/clip mounting plan, or automatic paper-and-screen adjustment. Those features are not established by this model’s three color temperatures, color wheel or height range. The official image supports its visible white lamp and base; it does not demonstrate output or mechanical reach. Match the MCC00Z-SHPR code and the exact instructions before purchase, and treat unsupported base dimensions and numeric lighting values as open checks rather than filling them in from a related model.
